The Timbers haven’t lost in over a month and will look to extend their current unbeaten streak to five when they face Sporting Kansas City this Sunday.

SKC started the 2025 season on a skid, losing four of their first five matches before parting ways with long-time head coach Peter Vermes and then finding their first win last weekend under interim head coach Kerry Zavagnin. Offensively, forward Dejan Joveljic is SKC’s leading scorer with four goals in seven games (six starts). Kansas CIty leads the all-time MLS series against Portland, however the Timbers can even it up with a win on Sunday as they have recorded 8 wins, 9 defeats, and 7 draws in 24 matchups with Sporting.
