Man, 21, killed Tuesday in SUV-semi crash in southwest Kansas

PLAINS, Kan. (WIBW) – A person was killed early Tuesday when the game utility car he was driving collided with a semitrailer in Meade County in southwest Kansas, authorities mentioned.

The collision was reported round 12:01 a.m. Tuesday on the intersection of 4 Highway and US-160 freeway on the northwest fringe of town of Plains.

In keeping with the Kansas Freeway Patrol, a 2004 Chevrolet sport utility car was touring south on 4 Highway when it did not yield the fitting of technique to a 2022 Peterbilt semitrailer that was westbound on US-160.

The patrol mentioned the SUV struck the semi on an axel of the trailer.

The motive force of the SUV, Peter Krahn, 21, of Cimmaron, was taken to St. Catherine Hospital in Backyard Metropolis, the place he was pronounced lifeless. The patrol mentioned Krahn wasn’t carrying a seat belt.

The motive force of the semi, Bevan L. Becker, 28, of Montezuma, was reported unhurt. The patrol mentioned Becker was carrying a seat belt.
