Kansas City Public Schools board votes to name Dr. Jennifer Collier as next superintendent

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Metropolis Public Faculties district has its subsequent chief — Dr. Jennifer Collier.

On Wednesday evening, the KCPS Board of Training unanimously voted to call Collier because the district’s subsequent superintendent.

Collier, a longtime worker for KCPS, had been serving because the interim superintendent since final August.

Throughout her time with district, she’s served as a instructor and principal, amongst different issues.

She took over after Dr. Mark Bedell resigned from KCPS and later took a job as superintendent for the Anne Arundel County Public Faculties district in Maryland.

Throughout her tenure as interim superintendent, Collier was tasked with main the district to make some robust selections, together with closing two faculties.

KCPS mentioned it acquired 17 purposes for the job, with 5 complete candidates being interviewed and two finalist conducting a second spherical of interviews.
