Kansas City police investigating woman’s overnight shooting death as homicide
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One woman died Saturday night after she was shot in unknown circumstances, the Kansas City Police Department reported.
KCPD was dispatched to the 7600 block of Monroe Avenue around 10 p.m. on Dec. 28.
As officers were en route, a woman on her way to an area hospital flagged them down to let them know she had a shooting victim in her car who needed help.
When the officers pulled the woman out of the car, they noticed apparent gunshot wounds and started giving her medical treatment until paramedics arrived. The woman was ultimately taken to the hospital and later died.
Investigators do not currently know what led up to the shooting, nor do they have anyone in custody. They are searching for evidence and possible witnesses as they investigate the woman’s death as a homicide.
Her identity has not yet been released.
