Kansas City, Missouri, man drowns at Lake of the Ozarks on Sunday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Missouri, man drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks at around 11 p.m. Sunday.

56-year-old James D. Roy, of KCMO, was last seen Sunday near a moored vessel at Bollinger Creek Cove in Camden County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Roy entered the water and did not resurface. The circumstances around how he entered the lake are not known at this time.

He was pronounced dead at Mimosa Beach.

The highway patrol is investigating the drowning.
