Highway patrol investigating shooting involving KCPD officer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri State Freeway Patrol is investigating a taking pictures Friday night time involving an officer with the Kansas Metropolis, Missouri Police Division.

KCPD officers have been following up on a report simply earlier than 8 p.m. from the Kansas Metropolis, Kansas Police Division on an alleged armed automotive jacking that had occurred.

Officers with KCPD noticed the suspect automobile with two folks inside at a Household Greenback car parking zone close to E. sixth Road and Prospect Avenue.

A male suspect fled the scene on foot and a feminine obtained out of the automobile from the passenger seat. A handgun was positioned and two officers discharged their firearms.

The feminine suspect was shot and brought to an space hospital in steady situation.

The male suspect was unhurt however taken to the hospital for an unrelated medical challenge.

The investigation is ongoing.

No officers have been injured within the incident and there’s no menace to the general public.
