KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – From Platte City to Overland Park, 18th and Vine to the Kansas City International Airport, the sounds of jazz, hip-hop, afrobeat and all the metro has to offer will fill the air over the weekend.
Kansas City Parks and Recreation has announced that the music makers far and wide have been invited to the fifth annual Make Music Day on Saturday, June 21. Nearly 85 artists will host more than 140 live music events across 44 venues in the metro.
City leaders noted that the event is part of an international celebration that takes place each summer solstice. The day is meant to bring together people of all ages and skill levels so they can make music.
Parks & Rec noted that the Make Music Day KC App is available to help navigate Saturday’s events. It will provide detailed information on performances, venues and schedules.
