Coalition launches platform to help Kansans engage in public service
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A coalition of organizations from across the state have launched a platform to assist Kansans grow to be engaged in public service and demystify the method.
The Kansas Farm Bureau introduced on Monday, Feb. 20, {that a} coalition of organizations within the Sunflower State has launched Engaged Kansas – a first-of-its-kind effort to encourage and help those that need to make a change to contemplate native public service.
“Whether or not it’s teaching a youth baseball crew, serving as a faculty board member or collaborating with an area service group, it’s that involvement that builds group and tradition,” stated Brad Bergsma, quick previous president of the Kansas Affiliation of Faculty Boards and Goodland USD 352 college board member. “Finally when people work collectively for widespread objectives, you may create a stronger group.”
The Bureau famous that companions embody the Kansas Affiliation of Counties, Kansas Affiliation of Faculty Boards, Kansas Chamber, Kansas Management Middle and League of Kansas Municipalities.
“Kansas Farm Bureau is happy to work with different organizations that worth public service to offer assets for hometown leaders,” Kansas Farm Bureau President Joe Newland stated. “As a former college board member and state consultant, I understand how rewarding public service may be. Engaged Kansas is a good useful resource for folks enthusiastic about enhancing their group to find alternatives to serve in native authorities.”
Based on the Farm Bureau, Kansas has greater than 6,000 elected positions on college boards, county commissions and municipal governments throughout the state. The objective is to encourage and help Kansans who want to serve their communities.
