The Kansas City Chiefs defensive line has been on a roll lately and grew stronger with the return of veteran Charles Omenihu from his six-game suspension. Last Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Chargers was highlighted by the second-half shutout led by defensive pressure on quarterback Justin Herbert.

Chiefs’ defensive tackle and one of the unit’s leaders, Chris Jones, has been dominant since returning from his contract holdout. He has praised the defensive line’s growth but was still hoping to add another pass rusher and champion in Frank Clark. Jones spoke with reporters before Wednesday’s practice about recent reports that Clark was leaning towards signing with the team that drafted him, the Seattle Seahawks.

“Listen, I think that’s a remarkable thing for Frank (Clark). I think he had a lot of success in Seattle. Frank, I love him like a brother. I actually talked to him last night about this,” said Jones. “I wish the best for hopefully, he comes here, but most importantly, I want what’s best for him and his career. Seattle’s the hometown team who drafted him, so it makes sense, and you know I hope it goes well for him.”

Clark was released by the Denver Broncos shortly after the Chiefs defeated them at home in Week 6. He reportedly signed with the Seahawks for the remainder of the season late Wednesday evening.
