Big 12 moves women’s soccer tournament from Round Rock to Kansas City for next two seasons
KANSAS CITY, MO. – After three seasons of playing its women’s soccer tournament at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, the Big 12 Conference announced on Tuesday that the event will return to Kansas City in a two-year agreement for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.The moves comes as no surprise, since Texas will make its long-awaited departure for the SEC on July 1. Texas had served as the nominal host of the Big 12 women’s soccer tournament during its time in Round Rock.

Kansas City, a hotbed of soccer, had previously hosted the event from 2013-19. San Antonio served as host from 1997-2012.
All tournament matches will be played at CPKC Stadium, the home of the Kansas City Current, a member of the National Women’s Soccer League. CPKC Stadium is the first facilty in the world purpose-built for a women’s professional sports team, according to Kansas City officials.

“This is just the beginning of our vision for CPKC Stadium and the possibilities for events we can host here in Kansas City,” said KC Current President Raven Jemison. “It’s only fitting that one of the first major events outside of KC Current regular season matches at CPKC Stadium is the Big 12 women’s soccer championship. As we empower the next generation of soccer talent, we can’t wait for them to experience our elevated purpose-built facilities.”
