⚾️ No. 20 TCU Takes Game One Against Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Kansas Jayhawks dropped the collection opener to the No. 20 ranked TCU Horned Frogs 15-6 on Friday evening at Hoglund Ballpark. Redshirt senior outfielder Caleb Upshaw hit his team-leading eleventh dwelling run of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• TCU (30-18, 14-8) scored three unearned runs within the first inning after two fielding errors.
• Kansas responded with a five-run second inning. Upshaw hit a solo dwelling run to steer off the inning. Then, an RBI groundout by Tavian Josenberger and a bases-loaded hit by pitch evened the rating at 3-3.
• Nolan Metcalf would come up subsequent and ship a two-out, two-run single to place KU forward 5-3.
• The Horned Frogs tied the sport again up within the fifth inning with a two-run single by Kurtis Byrne and took a 6-5 lead within the sixth on an RBI groundout by Tommy Saco.
• Within the seventh, TCU added two extra runs to push the rating to 8-5.
• Metcalf led off the underside of the seventh inning with a solo dwelling run to chop the deficit to 8-6.
• TCU would go on to seal the sport with 5 runs within the eighth and two runs within the ninth.
