The Iowa State women’s basketball season officially gets going Monday when the Cyclones tip off against Butler in a non-conference showdown at Hilton Coliseum at 11 a.m. ESPN+ will stream the game.

It’s the first true contest of the season for the Cyclones, who unofficially kicked off the season with a dominating 88-68 win over Division II foe Truman State in an exhibition game on Nov. 1.

The game will also be the first of the season for Butler.

Monday’s showdown will be a big test for Iowa State’s young roster, which started five newcomers (including three freshmen) in the win over Truman State. The bright lights weren’t too big for any of them.

Freshman Kelsey Joens poured in a game-high 20 points. Fellow freshmen Audi Crooks (14 points and 11 rebounds) and Jalynn Bristow (10 points and 12 rebounds) added double-doubles for the Cyclones.
