Toddler Killed In Rural Sioux Center Mishap

Sioux Heart, Iowa — Authorities say a toddler was killed early Saturday night in a motorized vehicle accident that occurred at a farm residence close to Sioux Heart.

In accordance with the Sioux County Sheriff’s Workplace, the mishap occurred shortly earlier than 6:00 Saturday night (Could sixth) at a farm residence on 420th Avenue, 4 miles southwest of Sioux Heart.

Deputies say 30-year-old Christopher Maassen of Sioux Heart, was driving a 2011 GMC Yukon on the property. He stopped to unhook a trailer; when he started driving away, he struck 20-month-old, Walker Maassen.

The toddler was transported by Sioux Heart Ambulance to Sioux Heart Well being, the place he was pronounced lifeless, in accordance with authorities.
