Riverdale Heights students learn about Iowa native trees, celebrating Earth Day

BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) – Riverdale Heights Elementary Faculty hosted an Earth Day ceremony Friday, in celebration of Earth Day.

College students realized in regards to the 9 Iowa native bushes the varsity obtained and deliberate to plant them on the faculty, if not for inclement climate.

The college obtained the bushes via a grant from the Iowa Division of Pure Assets. The grant additionally gave the Metropolis of Riverdale bushes to plant on metropolis grounds.

“For a few years we’ve had children exit locally and across the faculty and clear up trash or attempt to make the varsity look extra presentable,” Jennifer Richardson, Principal of Riverdale Heights stated. “We need to instill in children that worth of all the pieces little factor we do makes a distinction.”
