New Pork in the Pantry program to spur increased donations to Iowa food pantries

CLIVE, Iowa (KCRG) – A brand new Iowa Pork Producers Affiliation program seeks to extend pork donations to native meals pantries.

In a press launch on Friday, the IPPA stated the Pork within the Pantry program will reimburse county pork teams that make pork product donations to meals pantries in the identical county.

“Our native communities are vital to all of us,” IPPA President Trish Cook dinner stated within the launch. “Our trade creates native jobs and helps native companies. However, there are different individuals in our communities which might be going through financial challenges, and we need to help them with the good meals that we produce.”

Underneath this system, the IPPA stated it’ll reimburse as much as $1,000 for every county pork group that buys and delivers pork merchandise to their county meals pantries.
