IOWA CITY — Iowa football will face Michigan in next Saturday’s Big Ten championship game.
The Wolverines earned their conference championship game berth following Saturday’s 30-24 win over archrival Ohio State.
Third-ranked Michigan went 12-0 in the regular season and is expected to be heavily favored in Indianapolis against No. 17 Iowa.
Iowa (10-2, 7-2) will be going to its third Big Ten championship game in program history after clinching a division title earlier this month. The Hawkeyes lost in both of their previous trips to Indianapolis.
Saturday’s matchup will be a rematch of the 2021 Big Ten championship game, when the Wolverines ran away with a 42-3 rout of Iowa.
It will be Iowa’s second game against a ranked foe this season. The first one was a 31-0 loss to then-No. 7 Penn State.
A win in Indianapolis would give the Hawkeyes their first outright Big Ten title since 1985 and would send the Hawkeyes to a coveted New Year’s Six bowl game.
