Iowa football adds Western Michigan to 2028 non-conference schedule

In June, Iowa soccer introduced a slate of future non-conference soccer video games from 2023-2029. On Friday, they added their first opponent in 2028. The Hawkeyes will host Western Michigan, the colleges are scheduled to play subsequent season on Sept. 2 (season opener) at Kinnick Stadium. The date of the 2028 sport was not introduced. 

Western Michigan, who performs within the Mid-American Convention (MAC) is considered a stable Group of 5 program; posting just one shedding season since 2013.

2023 Schedule

• Sept. 2 vs. Western Michigan
• Sept. 9 at Iowa State 
• Sept. 16 vs. Utah State

2024 Schedule

• Aug. 31 vs. Illinois State
• Sept. 7 vs. Iowa State

2025 Schedule

• Aug. 30 vs. Florida Atlantic
• Sept. 6 at Iowa State
• Nov. 15 vs. Massachusetts
