Iowa college graduates leaving state for better career opportunities

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) – Iowa’s brain drain continues to be an issue with more college graduates leaving the state than staying.

A listening session at UNI found that career opportunities and job factors were the biggest factors students gave for either staying in Iowa or looking out of state. Politics was another driving factor.

KCRG-TV9′s Nataliya Oliynyk spoke to some of those college students one-on-one to find out why they would leave and what would get them to stay.
