Are Iowa’s Republican senators even literate?

Many Republican senators, including both from Iowa, have not read the latest Trump federal indictment, though several proceeded to defend him.

Chuck Grassley said: “I haven’t read it at all. I’m not a legal analyst. I’m gonna leave that to the professionals to tell us about it. I’ve read everything I can of secondary sources of it, but not the original.”

And yet Sen. Grassley was the head of the Judiciary Committee under the now-indicted president. If anyone in the Senate or in our general population should have any ability to analyze this indictment, you’d think it would be him.

Unless maybe he’s been faking it all these years, and needs to go back to remedial reading classes?

A is for accusation, B is for bars, C is for crime … I is for indictment, J is for justice.

Do Grassley and Sen. Joni Ernst think that if they ignore these legal charges with actual consequences they’ll just go away?

Maybe they just don’t have friends or relatives who’ve been put in danger by Trump’s egotistical braggadocio and careless showing of documents he shouldn’t have kept to whomever he wanted to impress.

It scares me to see, once again, how easily these supposedly honest and reputable Republican elected officials can rewrite history, as they did with the assault on the Capitol on Jan. 6.
