Luke Lachey, Tight End:

I find this omission so hard to believe. As a backup last year, Lachey only had 99 less yards than first-team tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford from Minnesota. He scored two more touchdowns as well. How is he left off this list?

Joe Evans, Edge:

This is one that you may overlook, but don’t forget that Joe Evans was a second-team All-Big Ten member by the media last year.

Noah Shannon and Logan Lee, Defensive Tackles

Lumping these two positional teammates together, because it’s pretty much the same situation for both of them. Both are really talented players, and extremely vital to Iowa’s system. Unfortunately, doing the less-glamorous work can hamper stats a bit. In a conference with excellent defensive line play, that can possibly keep you out.

Kaleb Johnson, Running Back

This is an understandable omission. It’s going to be extremely tough for Kaleb Johnson to break through as a sophomore. Both Ohio State running backs are third team members. The Big Ten has an embarrassment of riches at the position.
