One of the top targets in the 2024 recruiting class for the Iowa Hawkeyes is approaching his decision date.

Four-star wing Caden Diggs took a mid-June visit to Iowa City. Reading the tea leaves, it feels like the Hawkeyes made a serious impression on Diggs during his visit.

Diggs caught up with 247Sports’ Dushawn London to discuss his recruitment.

“Iowa, St. Joes, and George Washington came to see me play last week and I would say Iowa and Richmond are recruiting me the hardest,” Diggs told London.

The fact that he feels Iowa is recruiting him the hardest combined with what he shared with On3’s Jamie Shaw about his time in Iowa City makes it feel like the Hawkeyes are in a great spot.

“The team culture really stood out. Everyone seemed so comfortable with one another, the culture was great. They all ate over at the coach’s house. I got to sit with them, be around them and see how they all interacted. I liked it a lot.

“Our relationship has continued to grow since the visit. They’re real with me. They let me know how I’m playing and what I need to improve on. They like to get up and down. They’re a more offensive-minded team, so if I can come in and bring defensive versatility, then it could be a great fit,” Diggs said with Shaw of his Iowa visit.

Diggs told 247Sports’ London that Iowa sees him fitting in with the Hawkeyes like players such as Devyn Marble and the Murrays did before him.

“They see me being able to score and get myself involved in the offense in different ways,” Diggs told London.

He also revealed with London that he is working to set up visits with Oklahoma State and Seton Hall. Still, he is nearing a summer decision.

“I’m probably going to make a decision by the end of summer and cut down after the live weekends. I’m open now but after this live session I’m going to shut it down,” Diggs told London.

In its updated rankings, On3 rates Diggs as a four-star recruit, as the nation’s No. 90 player overall and as the No. 2 player from Maryland.
