A TikTok star’s former partner was shot and killed in Indianapolis early Monday, according to police records and social media posts.

Devin Williams, 36, was found by police with gunshot injuries inside a home in the 5900 block of Riva Ridge Drive around 6 a.m. on the southeast side of Indianapolis. Officers had been called to the scene on a report of a person shot, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Investigators initially thought the shooting was self-inflicted. Williams died at the scene. Upon further investigation, detectives determined the shooting was not self-inflicted and one person was detained. Police did not release any details on how the detained person was involved and they have not announced any arrests in the case.

Williams is the former partner of Kelsey Pumel, whose TikTok channel Growingwithkelsey has about 2.5 million followers. Pumel and Williams have a young daughter together, Kobe, who is sometimes featured in Pumel’s videos.

“I fought so hard and did everything right so (Kobe) wouldn’t have any trauma,” Pumel said in a TikTok video discussing her ex-partner’s death. “He just left her with a lifetime full of it and I can’t protect her from this.”

The video has been viewed 4.5 million times on TikTok. Pumel, whose Instagram page, perfectlykelsey, has close to 350,000 followers, asked her followers to pray for her daughter.

Brandon Melendez, a friend of Williams in Indianapolis, said Williams was involved in the boxing community and enjoyed mixed martial arts and basketball.
