INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis is set to welcome a stunning new addition to its downtown landscape with the grand opening of a luxury hotel on Monday, Feb. 24. The InterContinental Indianapolis is poised to redefine hospitality in the heart of the city, offering a blend of luxury, style, and Hoosier hospitality.

Situated in a prime location near Monument Circle, at the intersection of West Market and Illinois streets, the InterContinental Indianapolis is housed in the historic Illinois Building. Built in 1926, the building had been abandoned in 2002 and was once listed among the state’s 10 most endangered landmarks. Following a major renovation by locally-owned Keystone Construction, the property has been transformed into a modern hotel while preserving its timeless elegance. Guests will be treated to top-tier accommodations, locally inspired cuisine, and a variety of luxury amenities.

The InterContinental Indianapolis will feature:

  • 2nd floor Serliana Café and Lounge: A stylish space for dining and relaxation.
  • 11th floor Astrea: A rooftop cocktail bar offering breathtaking views of the city.
  • Locally inspired culinary delights: Executive Chef Craig Baker’s menu, inspired by Indiana’s rich culinary heritage.
  • Indiana-based art collection: The hotel showcases an impressive collection of artwork from local artists, emphasizing its connection to the community.

Though the hotel officially opens on Feb. 24, the grand ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on March 4, with Governor Mike Braun and other dignitaries are expected to attend.
