NCAA's Dan Gavitt talks 2026 Final Four, potential bracket expansion

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The countdown has begun for a celebration of basketball in Indianapolis next year. The Circle City will play host to five NCAA basketball championships over four days in three iconic venues — Lucas Oil Stadium, Gainbridge Fieldhouse and historic Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The main event comes with the 2026 Final Four — Indy’s ninth time hosting the NCAA’s marquee men’s basketball weekend. Along with it will be the NIT and WBIT championships, plus the Division II and Division III national championships.

Sports 8’s Angela Moryan spoke with the NCAA’s senior vice president of basketball Dan Gavitt about why Indianapolis was chosen for the historic weekend and how the excitement is building before 2026.

Gavitt also talks about the potential expansion of the men’s March Madness bracket.
