Man severely burned in chair fire

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — A Bartholomew County man was discovered severely burned in a chair hearth in his residence after midnight April 5, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Workplace introduced Wednesday.

In line with the assertion, deputies with responded to reviews of a disturbance within the 1100 block of Dacia Road, east of US 31 and south of West County Highway 650 North, about 40 minutes southeast of Indianapolis.

Investigators arrived on the location and found the person sitting in a chair that had caught on hearth. One officer extinguished the flames as others pulled the person, who was incoherent and unable to maneuver, from the chair and rushed him exterior into recent air.

Deputies realized the person had sustained extreme burns to a number of areas of his physique. Officers supplied medical help to the person till emergency companies arrived. The person was flown by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital for additional therapy.

Officers stated within the launch that the reason for the hearth is unknown right now, although consider a lit cigarette might need performed a task.
