Local father and daughter murdered in Indianapolis

ANDERSON — An Anderson household is coping with the homicide of a son and granddaughter after an incident in Indianapolis on April 15.

Vanel Stamps, 47, Anderson, and his daughter Summer season Shine Stamps, 22, Indianapolis, had been the victims of a murder-suicide.

A joint funeral service will happen at midday Saturday on the United Auto Staff union corridor, 2840 Madison Ave., with preparations being dealt with by Glazebrooks Funeral Service.

Vanel Stamps was a 1992 graduate of Anderson Excessive College and was employed by Nash & Sons Trucking. He was a member of Teamsters Union Native 135.

Summer season Stamps graduated from Anderson Excessive College and was a FedEx worker.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Division stated that Vanel Stamps and Summer season Stamps had been killed by Kris Martin, 26, who then died by suicide.

In keeping with the incident report, Indianapolis cops had been dispatched to the 5300 block of Holly Springs Drive on a report of an individual shot.

When officers arrived, they discovered three adults inside an condominium affected by gunshot wounds. All three had been pronounced useless on the scene.

The Marion County Coroner’s workplace decided that the deaths of Vanel Stamps and Summer season Stamps had been homicides.
