Fire engulfs former Marsh grocery store in Irvington Saturday night
Indianapolis Fire Fighters worked for hours trying to put out a fire at the abandoned Marsh in the Irvington shopping plaza Saturday going into Sunday
I am writing to express my displeasure at the expelling of Jesse Brown from the Indianapolis-Marion County City-County Council.
Jesse Brown is a naive idealist who causes headaches for Marion county Democrats. He has pushed repeatedly for a Gaza ceasefire resolution. He’s called out prominent party members’ sexual harassment accusations. But the straw that broke the camel’s back was ostensibly his forcefulness of championing public education.
Under the auspices of the legislature dismantling Indianapolis Public Schools, the Democratic caucus has chosen now to expel one of the few true progressive voices this city has.
It’s not surprising the same mistakes that caused Democrats to lose the federal government are playing out on a local level. The Democrats need a gadfly. I hope Jesse continues to fight the good fight.
