Indianapolis man charged for armed robberies at PetSmart, Subway

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis man faces expenses after being accused of robbing two companies at gunpoint.

James Bennett, 43, is accused of robbing a Subway restaurant within the 6500 block of West Washington Road on the afternoon of Oct. 24 and at PetSmart within the 9700 block of East Washington Road on the night of Nov. 4. In keeping with a police report, somebody was injured within the PetSmart incident.

Detectives investigating the circumstances believed the identical suspect to be behind each.

Police had surveillance footage of the suspect car within the Subway theft and witness descriptions from each circumstances to assist them resolve the case.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Division situated the suspect car on Nov. 9 and arrested Bennett.

He faces three felony expenses within the case for armed theft, theft leading to bodily damage and illegal possession of a firearm by a critical violent felon.

He has an preliminary court docket look on Tuesday afternoon.
