INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Housing Agency (IHA) may get some help managing properties that are dealing with a lack of resources.

IHA’s new CEO Yvonda Bean will join her first IHA Board of Commissioners meeting since starting the job on Tuesday. According to the agenda, the IHA Board of Commissioners will consider a property management contract with Bradley for the Laurelwood and Rowney Terrace apartments.

Both properties are among the eight formerly operated by Hayes Gibson Property Services (HGPS).

I-Team 8 found many of the former HGPS apartments plagued with unaddressed maintenance issues, boarded up units, and some signs of squatting. HGPS ended its agreement with IHA in January, and blamed IHA for overdue repairs.

Laurelwood has also faced its own challenges, including a tragic shooting in January that killed a 14-year old dancer.

IHA told News 8 it’s struggled to address problems at the former HGPS properties because of staffing and lingering issues from multiple cyber attacks.

Also on the agenda is a request to execute property management contracts with Paths, but the meeting notice doesn’t list which properties that agreement would cover.

The IHA Board of Commissioners will meet in the 16 Park Community Building at 1 p.m. Tuesday
