Indianapolis announces expansion of Cultural Trail

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Cultural Path is getting a $21.2 million enlargement.

For the primary time, the path will cross the White River to the southwestern facet of the downtown.

The path will add a further mile alongside South Road, Kentucky Avenue and Henry Road.

Organizers say, as soon as full, the path will cowl about 10 miles.

Metropolis leaders introduced the enhancements Tuesday morning at Rock Flat at White River within the 300 block of South White River Parkway Drive. The state authorities helps fund the venture.

Democratic Mayor Joe Hogsett stated “Accommodating numerous types of mobility is a key a part of any growth for the way forward for Indianapolis, and it’s for all of these causes that our metropolis is a proud accomplice in as we speak’s enlargement and as we speak’s announcement.”

That is the second enlargement of the path in its 10-year historical past.

Development for the Henry Road Bridge will start in 2024.
