The Colts were heavy underdogs heading into their matchup against the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday. Yet, a couple of key turnovers, and the leg of Matt Gay, helped push Indianapolis to a 22-19 win. Gay kicked five field goals, including four from beyond 50 yards, an NFL record. His 53-yarder in overtime helped give the Colts their second-straight win. Notable concerns were coming into the game against the Ravens, as rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson was out with a concussion. Gardner Minshew filled in admirably, throwing a touchdown, and 227 yards, but expect Richardson to be back in the lineup on Sunday if he is out of concussion protocol.

Los Angeles’ offense was stifled thanks to mistakes during Monday Night Football last week. Matthew Stafford threw a pair of interceptions to Cincinnati Bengals’ linebacker Logan Wilson in a 19-16 defeat. The Rams’ second-straight loss saw the offense only pick up 292 yards of total offense, with Stafford getting sacked six times. L.A.’s defense gave them a chance to win, which has been a trend over the last couple of seasons. There are games where the offense cannot save the defense, while the defense cannot bail out the offense completely, a tough spot for a team in the same division as the San Francisco 49ers.

Heading into their first meeting since 2021, the Colts lead the Rams, 23-21-2, though the Rams have won the last four matchups.
