Chris ‘Boomer’ Layfield Departs Cumulus Indianapolis
Christopher ‘Boomer’ Layfield has exited as Operations Manager of Cumulus Media Indianapolis and Program Director of Country 95.5 WFMS and AC “107.9 The Mix” WNTR.
Layfield joined the company in March 2018 as OM of Cumulus’ then three station cluster and WFMS PD. He would become co-OM following the company’s 2019 acquisition of Entercom’s Indianapolis stations and assume the full role in March 2022 along with WNTR programming duties. Prior to joining Cumulus, Layfield programmed iHeartMedia CHR “Channel 96.1” WHQC and Variety Hits “102.9 The Lake” WLKO Charlotte NC from 2011-18 and has also programmed for iHeart at KSLZ St. Louis and WRVQ/WMXB Richmond, and held positions at KHTS-FM San Diego, WKBQ St. Louis, WYHY/WRVW Nashville, and WZJZ Fort Myers.
