Social Media Goes Nuclear After Indiana State Snub

College basketball fans are livid Indiana State didn’t make the NCAA Tournament.

The Sycamores put together an incredibly impressive 28-6 season, but lost to Drake in the MVC title game. People were pulling for Indiana State to get an at-large bid to the Big Dance because earning 28 regular season wins as an MVC team should get the job done.

Plus, Robbie Avila (nickname: Cream Abdul-Jabbar) has built a bit of a cult following. However, it just wasn’t meant to be.

Fans erupt at Indiana State snub.

The Sycamores waited to hear their names called Sunday during the Selection Show, but it never came. The insane snub was more than enough to set social media on fire.

Check out some of the best/funniest reactions below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

The problem is there’s really no way to justify keeping Indiana State out over the likes of Boise State, Colorado, Virginia, and Colorado State.

What did the Rams and Cavaliers do to deserve it more over the Sycamores? Is Virginia even in the tournament if their head coach is someone other than Tony Bennett? How much of UVA making it was about name recognition and having a major brand over another mid-major?

I don’t have answers to any of those questions, but fans are clearly irate. I don’t blame them. There’s nothing better than a great mid-major making a run in the NCAA Tournament, and that can’t happen if 28-win teams are left out for slightly above average Colorado and Virginia squads.

Think I’m right? Think I’m wrong? Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com, and let’s buckle up for some March Madness action.
