“SHEETZ ON THE POINT” IN INDIANA CLOSED

A Sheetz location in Indiana has closed its doors for good.

The “Sheetz On The Point” on Wayne Avenue closed at midnight this morning.  The store was the third in a series of concept stores operating around college campuses that did not feature gas pumps and focused on food sales, including the sale of MTO foods.  The other locations for these café style stores were Morgantown, West Virginia and State College.  The Wayne Avenue location opened in the summer of 2016 after the former Sheetz location underwent major renovations.

In a statement made in June, Sheetz Public Relations Manager Nick Ruffner said that the decision to close the store was a tough one, but the store had not met expectations.  All the employees working at the Sheetz On The Point have been offered jobs at other nearby locations.  Indiana has two Sheetz locations: one at the intersection of 4th and Philadelphia Streets and the other at the intersection of Ben Franklin and Warren Roads.
