Police shoot man in southwest Indiana, investigation underway

JASONVILLE, Ind. (WANE) – An Indiana State Police investigation is underway after a person was shot by police in southwest Indiana Friday afternoon.

The taking pictures befell after officers with the Jasonville Police Division responded to calls a couple of man inflicting issues outdoors a house in a neighborhood within the city of Jasonville.

The ISP investigation revealed the person was holding a knife and refused instructions to drop the weapon. He then reportedly lunged towards a Jasonville officer, who in response fired a minimum of one shot from their handgun and hit the person.

ISP stated the person was taken to the hospital and his situation is unknown. Nobody else was reported injured within the incident.

The identities of the person who was shot and the officers concerned haven’t but been launched.

As soon as the ISP investigation is full, will probably be turned over to the Greene County prosecutor who will decide if the officer acted inside the regulation.
