With a total solar eclipse coming up on April 8, the DNR wants to remind people of the dangers of looking at the sun at any phase of the eclipse without proper eye protection. To help give people a chance to see the eclipse, the department has announced its sale of special eclipse glasses.

The glasses come from a vendor on the American Astronomical Society’s approved list and are branded with the state’s eclipse logo. The DNR says the glasses have 2-millimeter scratch-resistant polymer lenses that filter 100% of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet and infrared rays and have been independently tested to be safe for watching all phases of the eclipse.
