Fairfield women get #13 seed, will face #4 seed Indiana in first round of NCAA tournament
FAIRFIELD, CT (WFSB) – The Fairfield women capped off their amazing regular season with a conference title.
Now, they will be going dancing for the sixth time ever.
They are a #13 seed in the NCAA tournament, and they will face the #4 ranked Indiana Hoosiers in the first round as part of the Albany region.
The Stags’ season has been nothing short of historic, going 31-1 during the regular season and capturing its first ever top 25 national ranking.
Indiana was the #3 seed in the Big Ten conference tournament, and they fell to #6 seed Michigan last Friday.
The Stags’ and Hoosiers’ will face off at the Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana.
They will be joined by Oklahoma and Florida Gulf Coast.
