CANAL DAYS, ANGELS WINGS FLEA MARKET MAKE UP BUSY SATURDAY IN INDIANA COUNTY

Indiana County will be busy over the weekend with several local events taking place.

The Historic Saltsburg Canal Days got underway yesterday and will run through Sunday. The annual Firemen’s Parade kicks off today’s slate of events at noon. Organizers with Canal Days say the best view for the parade will be from Salt and Market Streets. After a long day of events, there will be a firework show tonight starting at approximately 10 o’clock.

Downtown Indiana’s annual car show will take place from 3-7. Because of this and several other events in the area, Indiana Borough has announced some road closures in effect. Philadelphia Street between 5th Street and 9th Street will be closed Sunday June 9th from 2pm until 8pm for special events. South 7th Street from Locust and Wayne Avenues to South 7th and South Street are under construction until Saturday, 6am.

Lane restrictions on Wayne Avenue from Hospital Road to Maple Street and closures along Carter Avenue will remain in effect until August 16th.

Also happening today is the 4^th annual Angels’ Wings Flea Market and & Vendor Expo happening from 9-3 at the S&T Bank Arena. Andy Hart from Cat Country 106.3 FM will broadcast live from 9-noon with our prize wheel.
