Braun: My agenda would improve quality of life for hardworking Hoosiers

Indianapolis Star
I am a conservative political outsider who spent my career building a business, creating thousands of good-paying Hoosier jobs, and raising my family. Career politicians and government bureaucrats are making it more difficult than ever for hardworking Hoosier families to prosper. I am worried that we may not leave this country in better shape than we found it, and we need bold leadership to ensure Indiana’s best days are ahead of us.
After serving Hoosiers in Washington, I know now, more than ever, our problems can’t be solved by the special interests and career politicians in D.C. They must be solved right here at home. The way we save America is to make Indiana a beacon of freedom and opportunity.
We have a lot to tackle to get Indiana back in the pole position as a national leader. My Freedom and Opportunity Agenda focuses on a few key areas where my experience as a Main Street entrepreneur will help our state hit the ground running when I am in the governor’s office.

As our next governor, my agenda will focus on issues that will raise the standard of living and improve the quality of life for hardworking Hoosiers such as delivering high speed internet to every household, addressing mental health, reversing the poor infant and maternal mortality rates and delivering high wage careers.
First, we must create economic policies that will help every Hoosier achieve prosperity with a good–paying career. The America First economic agenda brought unmatched prosperity, and Indiana should be partnering with industries and businesses that are committed to growing jobs here in the USA.
Additionally, my agenda will focus on solutions that improve the education outcomes for every Hoosier family because far too many of our high school graduates are not prepared to enter the workforce or pursue a degree. A major part of the solution should be rooted in the notion every family, regardless of income or zip code, should be able to enroll in a school of their choice and pursue a curriculum that prepares them for a career, college or the military.
Hardworking Hoosiers and business owners are feeling a pinch on their pocketbooks from rising costs in two key areas: health care and energy costs. Our health care costs are among the highest in the nation, and I will tackle this issue through competition, transparency and innovation. We can lower energy costs by unleashing the prosperity of our state’s abundant natural resources and embracing new technologies that can deliver clean and affordable energy.
Hoosiers deserve safe communities where they can live, work and play, and that starts with supporting our law enforcement. The men and women who wear the badge are on the front lines keeping us safe, and they will have my support to do their jobs. In the Braun administration, if you commit a violent crime, attack a police officer or poison our kids with fentanyl, then you will serve hard time in state prison.
Finally, we cannot return to COVID-19 restrictions and mandates that shut our schools, masked our kids and closed down main street businesses. As governor, we will never return to the harsh restrictions that hampered our state.
I have proven I can deliver results in the private sector as a main street entrepreneur and as one of the most effective, and conservative, US senators, and I will deliver results on this agenda for Hoosiers as Indiana’s next governor. Hoosiers know they can trust me to get the job done and accomplish the goals outlined in my Freedom and Opportunity Agenda for Indiana.
