Marianne McKenna and Jim McKenna sent in this photo they took of new baby hawks hanging out on their balcony near the Wheaton Clock Tower.

Laura Bradley tells us she had searched for 19 days “high and low” in search of a “one-in-a-million” blue-eyed cicada in her Homer Glen Yard. “[On the] 20th day of searching, I opened the front door and to my surprise, this little blue-eyed cicada sat alone looking at me on the brick wall by my front door! I snapped a few pictures and off he went. If you wish it, they will come,” Bradley said.

The Williams family, of the South Side, Chicago, submitted this photo of a rose blooming. They said, “We haven’t seen a rose bloom in a few years, lol! A hilarious story is the rose appeared along with the cicadas, Nature is showing off.”

Mindi Robles-Matas said she got this great shot of the Agricultural Crash monument while driving through Norway, Illinois, on a road trip. “The sky was quite amazing as well,” she said.
