Illinois Instrument Works Inc.’s revenue elevated within the fourth quarter as gross sales of automotive and meals gear jumped.
The Glenview, Il.-based industrial merchandise and gear maker reported internet earnings of $907 million, in contrast with $609 million a yr earlier. Earnings per share reached $2.95 from $1.93 and adjusted earnings per share elevated 21% to $2.34. Income rose to $3.97 billion from $3.68 billion.
The gross sales and revenue figures outperformed market expectations. The consensus compiled by FactSet was for income of $3.89 billion and internet earnings of $767 million.
ITW stated gross sales at 5 of its seven segments had double-digit natural progress within the quarter, with automotive OEM up 20% and meals gear up 17%.
