Illinois theater cancels conservative event due to ‘really, really bad’ threats

A theater in Des Plaines, Illinois canceled a conservative group’s occasion after saying it has obtained a bombardment of threats.

The Des Plaines Theater pulled the plug on a panel dialogue on reforming intercourse training, scheduled for early February by conservative activist group Awake Illinois.

“Awake Illinois discovered the Des Plaines Theater opted to halt the contract of the ‘Coalition For Youngsters’ occasion initially scheduled for February 8, 2023,” Awake Illinois stated in a press assertion. “On account of threats of bodily violence directed on the venue and members, this choice was made by Onesti Leisure, which has no affiliation with our group.”

Shannon Adcock, founder and president of Awake Illinois, spoke to Fox Information Digital concerning the incident.

The group drew the ire of LGBT activists over unspecified feedback that sparked intense backlash, based on native outlet ABC 7. Fox Information Digital has to date been unable to verify the character of the controversy, and Adcock claims she is unaware of any particular feedback cited for the outrage.

“I feel they do not like that we are saying, ‘groomers,’” Adcock speculated.

In response to Adcock, Des Plaines Theater administration informed her that they obtained a bullet within the mail amid different dying threats.

Fox Information Digital reached out to the Des Plaines Theater for additional remark.
