Illinois soldier buried more than 70 years after dying in Korean War

CHICAGO (CBS) – A soldier from Des Plaines acquired a correct burial on Thursday, a long time after he was killed throughout the Korean Struggle.

Military Corporal William M. Zoellick went lacking in North Korea in November of 1950 when he was solely 18 years outdated.

Zoellick died months later at a prisoner camp. His stays have been despatched again to the U.S., however couldn’t be recognized.

That was till a current effort utilizing dental information and DNA helped determine the stays. They have been buried on Thursday in Belvidere, close to Rockford.
