Illinois National Guard troops to support forces in the Middle East
CHICAGO (CBS) — This week, almost 200 troopers with the Illinois Military Nationwide Guard are delivery out abroad.
These troopers are based mostly in Kankakee and Peoria. Their mission: To supply air assist to U.S. forces within the Center East. On Wednesday, a particular ceremony was held in Peoria forward of their deployment.
Governor JB Pritzker was there, together with Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, and most of the troopers’ households. Initially established in 1723, this 12 months, the Illinois Nationwide Guard is marking its three hundredth 12 months of service.
