Dave Bentlin receives Living Our Values Award 

Administrative Assistant to the President Dave Bentlin has been awarded an Illinois State College Residing Our Values Award. 

The Residing Our Values awards acknowledge people and teams that exemplify Illinois State’s core values of Studying and Scholarship, Variety and Inclusion, Respect, Collaboration, Individualized Consideration, Civic Engagement, and Integrity, as spelled out in Educate Join Elevate: Illinois State – The Strategic Plan for Illinois’ First Public College 2018-2023. The awards have fun the dedication to stay the College’s values day-after-day and strengthen the campus group by sharing these values. 

Bentlin was nominated for the core worth of Variety and Inclusion. “For years, Dave has constantly labored to make sure equity and fairness on the College and locally,” mentioned Jean Ann Dargatz of the Workplace of the Provost, who nominated Bentlin for the award. “I do know that path has not all the time been simple, however Dave has integrity and lives his values. His work has helped many others.” 

Bentlin has served 37 years at Illinois State in roles for the Workplace of the President, Pupil Affairs, and College Development. He has been acknowledged quite a few instances throughout his Illinois State profession for his devoted service, campus actions, and group involvement. He was awarded the Lighthouse Award in 2001, the Civil Service Distinguished Service Award in 2006, and the David A. Strand Variety Achievement Award in 2017. 

He is without doubt one of the founders of the LGBTQ+ Pupil Help Fund. 

Bentlin’s space volunteer work consists of serving as a founding member and board member of the Prairie Satisfaction Coalition, a member of the Carle BroMenn LGBTQ Healthcare Advisory Council, a member of the Group Advisory Group for Equality Illinois, and treasurer for the Central Illinois Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. 

Nominees for the Residing Our Values awards will be any present Illinois State pupil, school, or employees member, or a bunch of individuals at Illinois State working towards a program or initiative that displays the core values.
