$50 million in funding announced in Illinois infrastructure projects
(KFVS) – Illinois Gov. Pritzker has introduced $50.7 million in new infrastructure grants.
The announcement was made on Tuesday together with the Illinois Division of Commerce and Financial Alternative.
This goes to 34 communities, counties and localities within the state.
“Each nook of Illinois deserves twenty first century infrastructure – and Rebuild Illinois is the most important ever effort to get us there,” Pritzker stated. “Modernizing main throughways that underpin our standing on the nation’s transportation hub is important work, however so, too, is making the lives of working households simpler. Rebuild Illinois proudly dedicates greater than $3.3 billion to precisely that: renewing native roads, rebuilding sidewalks, and investing within the hubs of neighborhood life.”
The funding will go in direction of tasks like changing bridges, upgrading water therapy and setting up roads.
These funds from the state shall be met with $72.1 million in matching commitments for capitol tasks. This may lead to a complete of $123 million.
The funding is made attainable via the Rebuild Illinois Public Infrastructure (RIPI) Capital Program.
