Two younger brothers died after they fell into an icy pond whereas visiting their grandmother in a Chicago suburb, authorities and family stated.

Hours after Palatine firefighters pulled the boys from the pond Wednesday afternoon each youths died at native hospitals, police stated. The Cook dinner County Medical Examiner’s workplace recognized the boys as Romalice Brooks, 6, and Ro’Siah Brooks, 4.

Family members stated the boys had been brothers. Their mom, Teghan Ivy, stated her sons had been visiting their grandmother along with her Wednesday. Ivy stated she was inside when she heard her sons screaming her identify and appeared to see them struggling within the pond’s icy waters.
