DETROIT – Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Governor Tim Walz visited Michigan on Wednesday for a rally at Metro Detroit Airport.

“Michigan, this has been a big week,” Harris said. “On Monday, I officially became the nominee for President of the United States. And yesterday, I announced my running mate for this campaign, Tim Walz.”

The rally was held inside a hangar at the airport, drawing a crowd of thousands of supporters.

“I have been told this (is) the largest rally of the campaign,” Walz said.

During the rally, Harris told the crowd that she had a lot on the line this November and was ready to fight to win.

“When we fight, we win,” Harris said.

The event included a long list of Democratic speakers, including DNC Chair Jamie Harrison, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist, UAW President Shawn Fain, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Each speaker slammed opponent Donald Trump and touted what a Harris/Walz administration could do for Michigan.

Walz used the opportunity to introduce himself to Michigan voters.
