Tigers pitcher Tyler Holton to headline 2025 Detroit Baseball Dinner
Tyler Holton, the mesmerizingly versatile left-handed pitcher who helped the Tigers to two playoff rounds and a stunning 2024 season revival, will headline the 2025 Detroit Baseball Dinner, 5:30 p.m., Jan. 25, at Andiamo Detroit Riverfront.
Holton will receive the 2024 Bill MacAdam Tenth Man Award, presented by the Detroit Baseball Society. The award honors a Tigers player whose contributions, in less than a fulltime role, were noteworthy and even indispensable during the previous season.
The Detroit Baseball Dinner began in 2001 as a celebration of baseball during winter’s waning doldrums just ahead of spring training’s renewal. Through the years, Tigers front-office executives, as well as managers and players, have been featured Detroit Baseball Dinner guests.
The evening includes dinner (entrée selections, as well as appetizers, are listed on the event’s website) and two-hour open bar.
In addition to Holton being honored, the dinner’s featured speaker will be Mike Smith, who for 13 years was Tigers’ director of baseball operations, and who now is a senior vice-president at Invest Detroit.
A lively audience question-and-answer session will also be part of a full evening program.
Dinner tickets are $150. For full information, visit the dinner’s website at www.Detroitbaseballdinner.com.
