Lions vs Giants: Best and worst PFF grades from Detroit’s preseason win

Published

on

  1. TE Sam LaPorta: 36.7
  2. LT Obinna Eze: 42.3
  3. FB Jason Cabinda: 43.4
  4. TE Daniel Helm: 43.5
  5. WR Maurice Alexander: 44.1

During the week, LaPorta did not receive many chances to play, as the coaches wanted to give some of the new players their first NFL experience. He only had one chance to catch the ball, but unfortunately, he dropped it. However, he performed well in blocking. During training camp, LaPorta excelled, so fans were hoping to see more of him. However, this should not be a cause for concern, as he will be a reliable target during the regular season.

Eze, on the other hand, only played for 19 snaps this week. He gave up a sack and drew a penalty, which disappointed those who were hoping to see him take a step forward. When he joined the Lions last year, he was inexperienced, but he has made significant progress since then. It will be interesting to see how much he improves during the preseason. Cabinda did not have a good day when he dropped one of his targets. With limited spots available, it will be difficult for him to secure a role unless he contributes on special teams.

Helm was brought in after Shane Zylstra’s injury and needed to take advantage of his opportunities, but things did not go well for him. He was penalized twice and dropped the only ball thrown to him. Alexander made the best play of the day with his punt-return touchdown, but he did not have the same success on offense, catching only one of his three targets.
